When it’s necessary to customize DMExpress processing, creating a custom task is preferred over customizing the job script. While customization at the job level can be a powerful tool, it comes at the expense of parallel processing and portability, whereas custom tasks do not have these limitations.

Therefore, job customization should only be used when the same goal cannot be accomplished using a custom task. Custom tasks provide most of the benefits of job customization, without the performance and portability disadvantages.
