The DMExpress error messages DBCNNTES and FLLDALIB indicate that DMExpress is unable to establish a database connection because the database client library could not be not found or a bit level mismatch exists between DMExpress and the database client library.
To resolve this issue, ensure that the path to the database client library file is specified in the appropriate environment variable, and that the bit level of the DMExpress library matches the bit level of the database client library.
The following error messages are issued when the database client library cannot be found or a bit level mismatch exists between DMExpress and the database client library:
DMExpress : (DBCNNTES) database connection "<text>" to <text> data source "<text>" could not be established
(FLLDALIB) failed to find the <text> client library file <text>
Verify whether the application path includes the required database client libraries.
On UNIX/Linux, run the env command to verify whether the library path includes the database client library path.
If the library path does not contain the database client libraries, run the following command to set the library path:
where <Library_Path> is the library path environment variable that you set on your specific platform, and <Database_Client_Library> is the library path that contains the database client libraries.
Verify whether the PATH environment variable includes the database client library path in one of the following ways:
If the library path does not contain the database client libraries, edit the PATH environment variable to include them.
Verify whether a bit-level mismatch exists between DMExpress and the database client libraries.
On UNIX/Linux, verify the bit level as follows:
Run the file command against the database client library and the DMExpress library. On UNIX/Linux, the DMExpress library is located in the <DMExpress>/lib directory, where <DMExpress> is the DMExpress installation directory. The DMExpress library name with which you verify the bit level is as follows:
On some platforms, such as AIX, the library with the correct bit level must occur first in the library path.
If a bit-level mismatch exists, set the library path environment variable to include the path to the correct bit level database client library.
On Windows, verify the bit level of DMExpress and the database client library using a utility such as Dependency Walker. The DMExpress library DMExpress.dll is located in the <DMExpress>/Programs folder.
If a bit-level mismatch exists, set the PATH environment variable to include the path to the correct bit level database client library.
When you run the task/job from the GUI and submit it to a DMExpress service running on a remote UNIX/Linux server, DMExpress picks up the environment variables from your profile. Set the library path to include the database client library path in your profile or set the library path in the DMExpress server as follows:
The library path set in the DMExpress Server dialog takes precedence over the other library paths listed for that system-specific library path environment variable.

For information on the environment variable required to verify the library path on specific platforms, see Connecting to databases from DMExpress in the DMExpress Help.
